The Working Itself: Invocation, Banishing, and Closing the Circle
Everything up to this point has been preparation. The principles gave you the reasoning. The altar gave you the space. This post is where the two meet — the actual shape of a ceremonial working, from the moment it opens to the moment it properly closes. Not a script to copy word for word, but a structure, because structure is what lets a working hold rather than dissolve into good intentions with no container around them.
Grimoires
Some people call a grimoire a book of spells or a book of shadows. The name you choose is less important than the purpose of the book, which is to chart your progress as you work magic and ascend to your own highest and most divine self. In that sense, it is a history book and you can look back at any phase or phases and see your progress.
Ritual Magic
In magic, rituals become a bit more critical to the workings in part because they are not typically a personal act. Many magic rituals are intended to be done exactly the same way by every person. Yes, there is some room for interpretation and for nuance and personalization, but there is a powerful connection you are forming between yourself and all magicians who came before you and those who will come after you, by replicating these ceremonies and rituals and yes, spells.
