Paroketh: Rending the Veil
For centuries, a single curtain stood between humanity and the Divine Presence. I open it with four Hebrew letters and my own two hands.
In the ancient Tabernacle, and later in the Temple in Jerusalem, a great curtain hung before the innermost chamber. Behind it was the Holy of Holies, the dwelling place of the Divine Presence. Only one person ever passed through it: the High Priest, once a year, on the Day of Atonement.
The Hebrew name for that curtain is Paroketh. It means veil.
The Working Itself: Invocation, Banishing, and Closing the Circle
Everything up to this point has been preparation. The principles gave you the reasoning. The altar gave you the space. This post is where the two meet — the actual shape of a ceremonial working, from the moment it opens to the moment it properly closes. Not a script to copy word for word, but a structure, because structure is what lets a working hold rather than dissolve into good intentions with no container around them.
Neptune in Leo: The Dream Learned To Perform
Leo wants an audience. It wants the spotlight, the gasp, the standing ovation. Neptune is exalted here — technically its most powerful placement in the entire zodiac — and what that combination produced was a fourteen-year season where illusion stopped being a private mystical experience and became the biggest entertainment industry the world had ever built.
Designate and Consecrate the Circle: Building the Altar You Can't See
There's the altar you can touch, and there's the one you can't. The first holds my tools. The second holds me, my space, my workings, and the line of light that runs from all of it up to Divine Source. I created this ritual to build that second altar, and I build it every time.
Building the Ceremonial Altar: Tools, Space, and Intention
A candle is wax and wick until intention is placed behind lighting it. A stone is mineral until it's been chosen, deliberately, to represent something specific to you in that particular working.
Neptune in Virgo: The Dream Learned To Kneel
Virgo doesn't dream in gold. It dreams in service, in humility, in the quiet dignity of doing the work that's actually in front of you. Hand that instinct to Neptune during the worst economic collapse of the century, and you get a mysticism with no interest in glamour at all — one built entirely out of scarcity, discipline, and the desperate need to find meaning in suffering that had no easy explanation.
The Qabalistic Cross: Where Every Working Begins
Four points of the body, five Hebrew words, and a pillar of light. It's the simplest ritual I know, and the one I would never skip.
Rhythm and Cause and Effect: The Pattern Underneath the Chaos
Rhythm tells you that a low point is temporary by design, not a sign of failure. Cause and Effect tells you that nothing arrives without a traceable reason, even when the reason isn't obvious yet. Together they're the actual argument against chaos — not that difficulty won't come, but that it comes in a shape, on a rhythm, for reasons that can eventually be understood, even if only in hindsight.
Neptune in Libra: The Dream Of A Restored Balance
Libra wants harmony. It wants the scales level, the conflict resolved, the story to end with everyone shaking hands. After a war that had just ended with two atomic bombs and tens of millions dead, that's exactly the dream the world reached for — not because balance had actually been restored, but because everyone involved needed, desperately, to believe it had.
Libra Season and the Sword No One Talks About
Libra season doesn't ask you to choose sides for the sake of conflict. It asks you to stop pretending the scale isn't already tipped. That's the sword — not a weapon aimed outward, but the instrument that finally lets you set something down.
Vibration and Polarity: The Pulse Beneath the Practice
Mentalism and Correspondence explain why symbols function. Vibration and Polarity explain why you already knew that before anyone told you. You don't need a lecture to know a room has gone cold, or that the same intensity powering your anger could, with almost no warning, tip into tears.
Neptune in Scorpio: The Dream Went Looking For What Was Buried
Scorpio doesn't want the comfortable version of the truth. It wants what's underneath — the thing polite society agreed not to look at directly. Hand that hunger to Neptune, and you get fourteen years of a culture tearing through its own taboos, convinced that whatever was hidden was also, somehow, holy.
The Two Towers: What Fell, What Remains, What We Never Finished Grieving
Twin beams of light still rise above lower Manhattan every September, standing exactly where the towers stood, reaching a height the buildings themselves can no longer claim. There's something almost otherworldly in that image — an absence turned into something you can see from miles away. It might be the closest thing I know to what real grief looks like once it's finally given room: not the structure rebuilt exactly as it was, but something new standing in its place, reaching even higher, made of nothing but memory and light.
Mentalism and Correspondence: The Mind That Shapes the Mirror
Correspondence is the principle most people already know without knowing its name: "as above, so below; as below, so above." It states that the same patterns repeat across every scale of existence — the same shape shows up in a single atom and in a galaxy, in a single relationship and in the culture surrounding it, in a single card and in an entire life.
Neptune in Sagittarius: The Dream Went Looking For A Guru
Sagittarius doesn't stay home. It's the sign of the pilgrim, the philosopher, the one who leaves to go find meaning somewhere else entirely. Hand that restlessness to Neptune, and you get fourteen years of an entire culture packing its bags in search of enlightenment — some of it real, some of it a very expensive con, and almost none of it fully sure which was which.
The Revolution That Dissolves the Rules of Reality: Uranus in Pisces
The gift of Uranus in Pisces is spiritual liberation. It dissolves rigid identity, softens hardened systems, and opens space for empathy that can cross even the most entrenched boundaries. It reminds us that transformation doesn’t always come through resistance—it can come through surrender to something larger than the self.
As Above, So Below: An Introduction to the Hermetic Arts
Hermeticism is a philosophical and spiritual tradition, rooted in texts attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, that treats the universe as a coherent, patterned whole — mind, body, spirit, and cosmos all operating on the same underlying principles, just at different scales.
Neptune in Capricorn: The Dream Got A Price Tag
Every Neptune season finds an economy for its illusions eventually. This one didn't wait. Neptune in Capricorn took transcendence, gave it a business plan, a mailing list, and a satellite feed, and asked how much you'd pay for salvation this month.
Pluto Retrograde: What Dies In The Dark Feeds What Lives In The Light
Every Pluto generation carries a wound and a calling. The wound is the experience of power used wrongly — the thing that happened to their generation that should not have happened. The calling is what emerges from that wound — the specific form of transformation their generation is equipped, by virtue of what they survived, to catalyze in the world.
Pluto retrograde, in your personal chart, connects your individual transformation to that larger current. Your healing is not separate from the healing of your generation. Your shadow work is not separate from the collective shadow work humanity is doing right now.
Everything is connected. Pluto has always known this.
Virgo Season Has Arrived — And It Wants a Word With Your To-Do List
Virgo is a mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury — earth for grounded, practical concern; mutable for its willingness to adjust, edit, and adapt rather than dig in. It's an unusual combination. Earth signs tend to be fixed or stubborn about their methods. Virgo isn't. Virgo will change the method entirely if the method isn't serving the outcome. That's discernment, not indecision — a distinction Virgo cares about more than almost any other sign in the wheel.
