Two Paths, One Practice: The Journey That Made Me a Spiritual Content Specialist

I want to tell you how I got here — because how I got here is exactly why I can help you.

This is not a story about credentials, though I have earned them. It is a story about two parallel journeys that ran alongside each other for years before I understood they were always meant to converge. One was professional. One was deeply, quietly spiritual. And the place where they finally met is the place from which I now do my most meaningful work.

The Long Road to Practice

I picked up my first tarot deck in 1990. I was drawn to it the way you are drawn to something you don't yet have language for — a pull without an explanation. But I worked from the little booklet that came with the deck, reading the descriptions, following the surface meanings, not yet understanding that what I was holding was a doorway into something vast.

I had been raised Catholic. I loved the rituals of mass — the incense, the candlelight, the cadence of prayer, the sense that something sacred was present and could be addressed. What I could not hold onto were the doctrines. So I left. What I took with me was the yearning. The deep, persistent need to commune with something divine. To feel connected not just to the living, but to the ones I had lost — ancestors, dear friends — who I still felt, somehow, present. Still speaking, if I could only learn to listen.

For years I read books about magic and mysticism the way you might read about a country you have never visited. I understood the words. I could not yet find the practice underneath them.

My Spiritual Content Specialist Journey

The Year Everything Shifted

In 2016, the world cracked open. You know what I mean. And in the fracture, I felt something urgent — a need for the world to make sense in a way that ordinary frameworks were no longer providing. I began to notice things. Small things. Subtle signs, symbolic coincidences, moments that felt less like accident and more like invitation. I began to follow them the way you follow a trail of breadcrumbs through a dark wood — not entirely sure where you are going, but trusting that the path is real.

That trail led me somewhere I had been circling for thirty years without finding the door.

Two Tracks Running Parallel

While my spiritual life was quietly deepening, my professional life was building its own foundation.

I published my first work of fiction in 2010. Friends who owned businesses noticed that I understood something about how people communicate online — how to build connection, how to find voice, how to actually get engagement. By 2014 I was freelancing as a content creator and strategist. Over the following years I built a real career — editorial work, brand voice development, social strategy, long-form writing across industries. The professional skills were accumulating alongside the spiritual ones, on a separate track, in what felt like a separate life.

By 2019, those breadcrumbs had led me deep enough into my own mystical nature that I could no longer treat that life as merely study. In 2020 I began immersive formal training in the Hermetic Arts, Ceremonial and Elemental Magic, and Astrology — a deeply integrative system that changed the way I saw everything. I was simultaneously building a reliquary of crystals, working with sacred geometry and stone combinations for intentional purposes in both my personal practice and my professional life. One world was feeding the other, finally, the way I had always sensed it could.

In 2022 I became a certified Level II Usui Reiki practitioner. That same year I returned to tarot — not as a beginner this time, but as someone who had spent years developing the intuitive and energetic foundation the cards had always been waiting for. What had once been a booklet of surface meanings became a living language. A mirror. A map.

What Two Tracks Converging Actually Looks Like

Fourteen years of professional content work. Years of deep spiritual study and active practice. A reliquary built stone by stone with intention. A Reiki certification. An astrology practice rooted in ancient methodology. Thirty-five years of relationship with tarot.

These are not separate qualifications. They are a single, unified way of seeing — and it is that unified vision that makes me a Spiritual Content Specialist rather than a content writer who happens to like crystals.

Here is what I know that a generalist cannot know: I understand your world from the inside. I know what it feels like to follow the breadcrumbs without a map. I know the difference between spiritual content that sounds like the work and content that actually carries it. I know your audience, because I am your audience — and I know what they are looking for when they find you, because I have been looking for it myself.

What This Means for Your Business

The content strategies that work for conventional businesses will not work for yours. Not fully. Not authentically. The tactics built for volume and velocity were not designed to carry wisdom, depth, or the kind of slow-building sacred trust that is the actual currency of the metaphysical world.

What your brand needs is not more content. It needs spiritual authorship — writing that comes from genuine practice, genuine knowing, and a genuine understanding of the people you serve. It needs a voice that sounds like yours even when you are not the one writing it, because the person writing it has walked a path close enough to yours that the translation is true.

When you put your spiritual business into its own unique light — not the borrowed light of trending formats or algorithmic best practices, but the light that is native to what you actually do — that is when you will be found by the people who need you. That is when your content stops performing and starts working.

I built two practices over the course of my adult life without fully understanding, for a long time, that they were one. Now I know. And that is exactly the knowing I bring to the work we would do together.
